We wish to communicate that the State Department for Immigration and Citizen services has been granted Authority to revise its charges and levies, as officially gazetted in a special issue dated 7th November 2023. These proposed changes apply to the diverse range of services we offer:

Citizenship Fees

1. Single journey visas: To be increased from $50 to $100.

2. Multiple journey visas: To be increased from $100 to $500.

3. Extension of visa after six months: To incur a charge of $200.

4. Sanction fees for overstaying: Set at $100.

5. Referral visa fee: To be increased from $10 to $100.

6. Business visa: Previously not charged, now set at $1000.

7. Visa fees for children of Kenyans: Set at $200.

8. Alien card fees: To be increased from KShs 2000 to KShs 10,000.

9. Electronic travel authorization: Set at $30.

10. Penalty for failure to renew the Alien card for each defaulted year: To be increased from KShs 1,000 to KShs 10,000.

Passport Fees

1. Diplomatic passport (50 pages): Was KShs 7500, now KShs 15,000.

2. Ordinary (34 pages): Was KShs 4500, now KShs 7500.

3. Ordinary (50 pages): Was KShs 6000, now KShs 9500.

4. Ordinary (66 pages): Was KShs 7500, now KShs 12,500.

5. Replacement of lost passport: Was KShs 12,000, now KShs 20,000.

6. Replacement of a valid mutilated passport: Was KShs 10,000, now KShs 20,000.

7. Temporary passport: No charge henceforth.

8. Express passport fees: Was not charged before, now KShs 30,000.

Work Permit Fees

1. Work permit investors Class G: Was KShs 100,000, now KShs 250,000.

2. Work permit investors Class D: Was KShs 200,000, now KShs 500,000.

3. Express work permits: Was not charged before, now $10,000.

4. Special pass processing fees: Was not charged before, now $200.

5. Dependant pass processing fees: Was not charged before, now $200.

6. Student/internship pass processing fees: Was not charged before, now $100.

7. Work permit processing fees: Was KShs 10,000, now KShs 30,000.

8. Dependant pass issuance fees of spouses to Kenyans: Was not charged before, now KShs 30,000.

9. Reprocessing fees for rejected permits: Was not charged before, now KShs 20,000.

10. Validation of work permit fees: Was not charged before, now $100.

11. Student/internship pass issuance fees: Was KShs 5000, now KShs 20,000.

12. Cancellation of work permit/bank guarantee: Was not charged before, now KShs 50,000.

13. Confirmation of residence and copies of work permits: Was not charged before, now KShs 50,000.

14. Query of status of work permits/citizenship/permanent residence: Was not charged before, now KShs 1000.
